Singing at the Helsinki Festival in Finland

Maria live at the Helsinki Festival

I love going on tour. Singing for a new public is a stimulus that renews my expressiveness. It is giving and receiving without reservation, as always, but in the refreshing context of a new discovery.

In spite of the language difference, the response of the Finns was extremely intense: how much genuine curiosity in the concentrated silence of their listening, what a strong embrace they gave me with their warm and sustained applause after each song, how much passion in those 1200 pairs of feet stomping and making the Huvila Tent vibrate in that final. impressive ovation.

Working with the festival organizers was a pleasure: from the reception at the airport, to their efficiency, to their personal warmth and including the bucket of iced champagne brought to celebrate the end of our show, each detail was an expression of true respect for us artists.
