Our first stop on this tour was Zurich, with its welcoming, ordered and sophisticated air — like a perfect doll’s house. Walking through streets that seemed almost unreal with their thousands of hanging Christmas lights reflecting like a sort of luminous rain on the stones, we arrived at the Widder Bar jazz club, to give our first two shows.
Alexander Zivkovic, the man who had organized this tour and a true believer, was waiting for us there. Nine months before and never having heard me sing live, he assured us that the people in the three cities we would visit would love our music. Roger Ruegger of All Blues Konzert — the local promoter who hired us for the Zurich show — also put his faith in us. Fortunately, both were proved right: everyone who heard us on this tour opened their hearts to us and to our music.
Next, we were off to Vienna, which made me lament once again the remorseless rhythm of touring which never leaves time to discover the treasures of each city. In the Reigen Live jazz club we found the endearing enthusiasm of an audience devoted to good music and Wolfgang Windbacher, manager of the venue, who also shared with us his perfect hospitality.
Bravo!!! for the sound engineers in Zurich (Daniel) and Vienna (Andreas). I owe them a special mention because they did their job splendidly.
Sasa Dragic was the great revelation of this trip. Producer, musician, composer and lover of life, he made our stay in Belgrade into a sort of fairytale. The last concert in the Dom Sindikata theater was a dream come true with a thousand people giving us a standing ovation!
Primero fue Zurich, con ese aire acogedor, prolijo y al mismo tiempo sofisticado de una casa de muñecas perfecta. Caminando por una calle casi irreal (miles de lamparitas colgando sobre unos hilos como una lluvia de luz sobre el empedrado), llegamos al Widder Bar jazz club, para dar nuestros primeros dos recitales.
Alli nos esperaba Alexander Zivkovic (abajo izquierda), el hombre que organizó esta gira, un verdadero creyente, que aún sin haberme escuchado cantar en vivo, nos aseguró que a la gente de estas ciudades le encantaría nuestra música. Roger Rüegger, de All Blues Konzert – la productora que nos contrató para el show en Zurich – compartía con entusiasmo esa opinión. Lo bueno es que ambos tenían razón… cada uno de los que nos escucharon en esta gira nos abrieron su corazón.
Después fue el turno de Viena, que me hizo lamentar una vez más el no tener tiempo durante las giras para descubrir los tesoros de cada ciudad. En el Reigen Live jazz club, encontramos el entusiasmo entrañable de una audiencia devota de la buena música y a Wolfgang Windbacher, dueño de la sala, quien además nos regaló una hospitalidad perfecta.
Bravo!!! para los sonidistas de Zurich (Daniel) y Viena (Andreas). Les debo una mención aparte porque hicieron su trabajo espléndidamente, una suerte de sueño ideal de los músicos: no hubo que enseñarles nada.
Sasa fue la gran revelación de este viaje. Productor, músico, compositor y amante de la vida, hizo de nuestra estadia en Belgrado una suerte de cuento de hadas. El final del recital en el Dom Sindikata fue la culminación soñada: más de mil personas aplaudiéndonos de pie.
